CSW BREAKING: House Fire in Western Overland Park KS

Seven companies of firefighters are fighting a house fire in the 11600 block of Oakmont- just south of the Johnson County Community College campus.

The alarm was sounded at 1:34 p.m. and the first arriving unit at 1:39 p.m.- MEDACT-EMS-1140- reported "heavy smoke" coming from "the front door and garage" of the house.

That "heavy smoke" was captured by a nearby Overland Park (OP) traffic camera at 119th Street and Quivira- about 4 blocks southeast of the fire.

First reports indicated there may have been an occupant still inside the basement of the burning house at 1:40 p.m.- but searches conducted by fire crews had not located any possible victim as of 1:58 p.m. and at 2 p.m.- fire command reports "all occupants are out" of the house and apparently uninjured.

The fire sounds to be nearly under control with no injuries reported as of this post....
