As if the State of Kansas has nothing more important on it's collective plate- this story from The LAWRENCE (KS) JOURNAL-WORLD reports that now Kansas legislators are attempting to outlaw those novelty cigarette lighters you see shaped like other things.
These lawmakers- who seem to be doing little for the children's looming and increasing education budget deficit- are worried the same under or plain uneducated kids could be harmed by "misuse" of said lighters.

This just after Kansas lawmakers took the time out their budget-strapped agenda to de-legalize the new 'manufactured' marijuana-like substance K-2.
At last report- there is no evidence offered that anyone has been killed or injured by a novelty lighter- so we sheep are certainly glad these lawmakers are trying to protect us and our kids from... EVERYTHING (including a fully-budgeted education).
Gee- I'm sure glad I don't live 6 miles further west than I do....
