Fatality Crashes in Smithville and Blue Springs MO

Four Die in Platte County MO House Fire

A house fire late Friday night near the northeastern Platte county MO town of Edgerton has claimed four lives- and the fire is being investigated by the Platte County Sheriff department as a homicide.


According to official reports- the fire was in the 3700 block of Buena Vista Road just south of Edgerton- and was reported to emergency agencies around 11:40 pm Friday night.


Arriving fire personnel found a house fully-engulfed in flames- preventing rescue of the four victims still inside.


As of late Saturday morning- Platte county authorities said that three of the victims were adults- 2 were females.


The third adult victim's gender could not yet be determined due to the extent of burns.

One of the victims was reportedly an infant.


Several other Platte and Clay county fire departments assisted Edgerton Fire at the scene.

BREAKING NEWS: Natural-cover Fire Threatens Structures in Ray County MO



Several fire departments are either on-scene or enroute to a natural cover fire in Rayville MO..


The original dispatch around 1:10 pm Friday afternoon was to "Richmond (MO) Fire- U and C Highways" and it was reported as "a large grass fire that has jumped the roadway and is threatening structures."


Richmond Fire is being assisted by Lawson- Wood Heights- Orrick- and just moments ago- Excelsior Springs fire departments.

VIDEO: Helicopter Crash-Lands Into Pearl Harbor HI

Fortunately- four or the five on board injuries are reported by the witness as "minor."

One of the passengers was seriously-hurt.



BREAKING NEWS: High Winds Fan Fires in Kansas City MetroRegion

Numerous fire departments on the Missouri  and Kansas sides of the state line are involved in firefights of out-of-control natural cover fires.


These fires are in Platte county MO- as well as Leavenworth and Jefferson counties in KS..

From all reports received here- the fires are in rural areas- but there are reports of some structures either threatened or involved in these fires.


The largest fire with responses from at least a half-dozen departments from 2 states is occurring in Platte county between Leavenworth KS and Platte City MO..
