CSW WEATHER: Severe Tstorm Watch No. 376 Until 4 PM Includes Metro Kansas City


Issued by the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center (NWS-SPC) Severe Thunderstorm Watch No. 376 includes all of Metro Kansas City.



Also included in STW-376 until 4 pm is the St. Joseph- Maryville- Chillicothe- Warrensburg and Clinton areas in Missouri.



In Kansas- the watch includes the Atchison- Lawrence- Ottawa- Topeka- Manhattan and Emporia areas.


Primary severe threat will be large hail and strong damaging winds- as well as lightning and very heavy rain.


An isolated tornado is always possible with a severe supercell thunderstorm too.


Main storm movement will be northwest to southeast.

Bad Supermoon For Motorcyclists Near KC-MO's Martin City Area

One cyclist was killed and another seriously injured in separate crashes in far southwestern Kansas City MO Sunday morning...


A yet-unidentified male motorcyclist reportedly struck a utility pole on Blue Ridge Boulevard east of Holmes Road around 3:45 am..

That person reportedly died at the scene according to EMS reports.


At 4:24 am was the report of a motorcycle versus deer crash on Missouri 150 highway near Holmes.

The driver/rider in this crash was seriously hurt- reported by EMS to be "a 58-year-old male" and taken to a Kansas-side medical trauma center.

CSW WEATHER: Severe Storms Possible Today over Metro- MetroRegion Kansas City


Storms are possible by mid-day to mid-afternoon over Metro KC-MO..


Some of the storms could be severe- with large hail and strong- damaging winds.

Heavy downpours can be expected with any of the stronger storms- as well as deadly lightning.

Up To 8 Victims In KC-MO Shooting


There are as many as eight persons wounded- at least 3 critically- after a shooting at an after-hours nightclub in KC-MO..


It occurred around 3:36 am at 1917 Prospect as police were arriving on a reported disturbance and sounds of gunshots there.


Arriving officers immediately called for an assist- sending dozens of officers from around the city.


At least six EMS units also responded with several fire companies.


In the ensuing dozens of minutes- three people have reportedly been driven from the Prospect scene to area hospitals.

One of them reported to be "shot in the head."


At the Prospect scene- EMS reports indicated the most critically injured are a 23-year old male who was shot twice in the upper abdomen and a  23-year-old female who was shot once in the lower abdomen.

Three other transports to different hospitals are males ranging in age from around 30 to the early 50's.


Only "possible suspect" info that was available as of this report is "a Rasterfarian (black male) with dreds (dreadlocks)."


UPDATE:  Later Sunday morning- police report that one of the victims from this shooting has died..
