CSW BREAKING: Apartment Building Fire in Blue Springs
Virtually all on-duty Central Jackson County Fire Protection District fire crews- along with backup crews from Lee's Summit- Independence- Fort Osage and Sni Valley fire departments- are battling a fire in a 3-story apartment building in western Blue Springs.
The fire is at the Autumn Place Apartments complex in the 600 block of Northwest Candletree (off Kingsridge) Drive and began around 5:30 p.m. this Wednesday- Independence Day 2012.
"Crowd control" got to be a problem for the Blue Springs Police department- whose resources were already strained by "fireworks calls."
An injury crash elsewhere in Blue Springs reported around 6:30 pm further strained both police and fire resources.
Two children suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash.
At 7:49 pm- the fire was reported by CJCFPD command as "under control."
No reports of serious injuries- but there have been at least 2 EMS transports of emergency personnel with heat-related medical issues from the fire scene as of 7:55 pm.
And- fire crews had only managed to do a search of the building's first floor- it is not known for sure if anyone was trapped inside by the fire that heavily-damaged the at-least 12-unit structure- and not yet known the number of people displaced by the fire.
City of Kansas City MO Does Crappy Job Informing Citizens of Bad Water
Tuesday morning- I went to do some dishes and noticed the water pressure was next to nothing.
Went looking on the Internet- nothing there- went looking around the neighborhood for any broken water main- nada.
Found out on the EVENING news (more than five hours later) there was a problem with powering a pumping station near 67th Street and Blue Parkway and that there was a boil water order in KC-MO very close to- but apparently not including our house/neighborhood.
Not one thing on the KC-MO Time Warner-Looney Tunes government channel (Channel 2) nor the city's 'Water Services' Web page (as of early July 4) where one MIGHT think something affect the quality of the citizen's water supply WOULD be posted.
Hey City of Kansas City MO- why be wasting money on your TV channel and your Internet pages if you are not going to post IMPORTANT and NECESSARY information on same?
