CSW BREAKING: KC-MO Fire Units Respond To Aircraft Emergency at K.C.I. Airport

It was sort of a 'slam-bam' affair on the K.C.I. airport emergency call.

The alarm was dispatched at 3:37 p.m. for surrounding structural fire companies- Pumpers 3-4-16 and 44- along with Truck 4 and Chief 103 (108 takes the call later) for an unreported type (believed passenger) plane experiencing an undisclosed problem.

At 3:40 p.m.- that plane lands safely on one of K.C.I.'s north-south runways- and is escorted to "the gate" by airport fire crews.

There's been no reports of anybody hurt- nor any report as to the airline- type of plane- number of souls-on-board nor the problem experienced.

And all the firepeople have went back home.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch No. 551 remains in effect for the entire Metro Kansas City area until 9 p.m.

At the current time- all thunderstorm activity is east of K.C.- as indicated on the weather radar image.

Central States News: Nebraska Corporate Welfare For Jobs Will Cost State Tax Revenue

S
imilar to Missouri's just-approved "tax incentives" for the Ford Motor Company- the State of Nebraska's issuance of corporate welfare in exchange for job creation basically puts more pressure on it's existing tax base.

In plain language- if a company isn't paying it's full share of taxes- governments are forced to raise sales and property taxes for everyone else to make up the difference.

A story in the OMAHA (NE) WORLD-HERALD tells of Nebraska's corporate welfare- and how much that largess costs the state budget.

Until any and ALL governmental corporate welfare is brought to a halt nationwide- what remains of middle to lower-income Americans will continue to bear the cost.
