CSW BREAKING: BLUE PARKWAY CLOSED IN KANSAS CITY AFTER CHILD STRUCK AND KILLED

A reported hit and run driver struck and killed a young child wandering on the westbound lanes of Blue Parkway near 67th Street just inside the Kansas City MO city limits with Raytown.


The incident occurred about 2:25 a.m. and the Raytown Police who arrived first confirmed the child was dead on the scene.


Police were looking for "a bluish-green 1990's Ford Taurus" that was driven by "a white male" who possibly struck the child and left the scene.


Around 3 am- police received a report from the nearby Crown Lodge motel at 8500 East Blue Parkway where a "2-year-old" male was missing from a room "with two other juveniles" there.

That information was confirmed as police discovered the boy wandered away from the room where his family from out-of-town was staying.


The young victim was identified Monday by police as "2-year-old J'Vierre Durden from Essex MO.."


Both directions of Blue Parkway between 63rd and 67th Street in southeast KC-MO going to and from Raytown were closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation.

CSW BREAKING: Critical Injuries After Motorcycle Crashes in Jackson- Johnson Counties MO

Blue Springs Police reported a "motor scooter" crash on M-7 Highway north of Colborn Road shortly after 11 pm Wednesday night.

 Crews for Prairie Township and Lake Lotawana Fire and EMS worked on the patient- reportedly a "an approximately 40-year-old female who was wearing a helmet" but had severe head injuires.

 She was taken to Centerpoint Med Center in very critical condition.


The woman- later identified as "39-year-old Niccole J. Young of Blue Springs-" died a couple of days later of her injuries.




As of this posting- an Eagle-Lifeflight medical helicopter is enroute to fly back to a Metro Kansas City hospital at the Johnson County Medical Center in Warrensburg two motorcycle crash patients.



One of the patients was reportedly a "24-year-old male- still unconscious" and "was not wearing a helmet."



It's not yet known where in JoCoMO that crash occurred.

Kansas City KS Police Investigate Sunday Morning Homicide

It was 1:58 am Sunday morning when Kansas City KS emergency services were sent to an address in the 2900 block of North 17th Street where it was reported there was "a man down" on the ground across from a residence.


Police arrived minutes later and found a man who police said was "in his 40's" dead at the scene.

The victim had reportedly been shot.


Police didn't have any witnesses or suspect information and said they would release the man's name as soon as next-of-kin had been notified.

Male Pedestrian Killed on I-35 in Lenexa KS

A man walking on Interstate 35 was struck and killed by another motorist Sunday morning...


Lenexa Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) said 23-year-old Kevin Polidore of Ottawa KS was walking on the edge of a southbound lane of I-35 just south of 87th Street when he was hit by a car driven by a Olathe man about 4:05 am.



Mr. Polidore died at the scene and the motorist who struck him- reported as 55-year-old Larry Gudgel of Olathe- was questioned and released by the KHP.
