You might recall the Lawrence KS woman who was killed by random gunfire on Bruce Watkins Expressway/U.S. 71 in July 2009- well- another incident occurred near that spot on Monday night.
KC-MO police report a female motorist and her passenger was fired-upon from another vehicle as she was entering the expressway at 55th Street before 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Police say the woman attempted to speed away from the shooter- and when she reached 39th Street on the expressway she discovered her passenger had been shot.
The woman- "slightly injured by flying glass" herself- drove to a hospital where her passenger was said to be in "critical condition" police stated
Again- the KC-MO Police department is asking anyone with information on this incident are asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 474-TIPS.
