A residence in Blue Springs burned around 11:10 p.m. Friday night in the 200 block of Southeast Westminister.
Four companies of the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District responded and it was after midnight when the fire was reported "out.".
No injuries were reported and the fire was investigated with no public report yet.
The next working fire was in an apartment building in Overland Park.
The alarm sounded at 11:44 p.m. for reported smoke in a building at 8416 West 88th Street at the Louisburg Square Apartments.
Police arriving about 5 minutes later reported "heavy smoke" and the building "being evacuated."
A fire was found in an apartment there and was brought under control within 15 minutes by OP and Lenexa fire crews.
No injuries were reported- cause was said to be careless smoking.
Fire crews from several Douglas county KS departments fought a "fully-involved" fire in a vacant house around 3:40 a.m. Saturday.
The blaze was in the 1700 block of East 50 Road- and Kanwaka Township fire crews first responded on the 2-story structure.
They arrived at 3:49 a.m. and hollered for help- it wasn't until 4:36 a.m. that the fire was declared "under control."
No injuries reported and an investigation as to the cause (arson) is under way.
Six companies of the KC-MO fire department were battling a fire in a 3-story house- reported just before 6 a.m..
The fire was in the 2500 block of Myrtle- and 2 "small streams" brought that fire under control at 6:10 a.m..
No injuries were reported as of 6:30 a.m.- and this fire is under investigation.
