KC-MO Westport-area Sobriety Checkpoint Nabs 44 Suspected Drunk Drivers

T
he KC-MO Police says out of "about 830" vehicles stopped Wednesday night and early Thursday morning- "44" drivers were suspected of driving under the influence or 5 percent of all vehicles stopped.

The police checkpoint was at 39th Street and Southwest Trafficway and in addition to the 44 arrested on suspected DUI charges- 23 other people were arrested on unrelated sobriety checkpoint offenses- says this story in The KANSAS CITY STAR.

One wonders- after driving around Wednesday night- how many more intoxicated drivers (many) could have been stopped with a non-static police saturation patrol.
