At 1:40 p.m. Friday afternoon- Riverside Public Safety (Police/Fire) report "4" vehicles involved in a crash on northbound I-635 and U.S. 69- just west of the Argosy Casino.

Initially- police on-the-scene reported "one (critical) and one (serious)" injured- but at 1:52 p.m.- MAST-EMS Unit 146 on-scene reports "two (minor injuries)."

One of the cars in the crash caught fire and started a grass fire which Riverside and Southern Platte Fire crews are putting out.

I drove past that northbound right when the firetruck arrived. The grass was still on fire and there was a crumpled white car. The guy looked alive still, they had him lying on the shoulder, he had dark skin, beard and shaved head I think. Please keep us posted cause I want to know what happened and if he and everyone involved is ok. It was definitely a scary sight! escpecially w/ all the smoke

Kristen-

The "18-year-old male driver" and an unidentified passenger in that white car were both taken to Truman Med Center-Hospital Hill with minor injuries that were described by MAST-EMS Unit 146.

It looked/sounded a LOT worse than it was...

Thank for reading-
