Severe Storm Threat Forecast Mid Through Late Week In Central U.S.

This is from the National Weather Service's (NWS) Storm Prediction Center (SPC).
The Kansas City MetroRegion is denoted by the big light blue dot in the middle of the map.

Try to follow the lines that mark the different days - 4 (Thurs-Fri) through 6 (Sat-Sun) - that all or part of the KC Metro is under a severe storm risk.

At the SPC site is also the Day 3 (Wed-Thur) risk area.
The K.C. MetroRegion is under a slight risk of severe storms that day as well - and areas northwest of us in Nebraska and South Dakota a higher or moderate risk area.
