There have been 2 working fires in the past hour - one an apartment building in Midtown and another a house in south-midtown.The 2:36 am fire in the apartment building sent fire companies initially to the wrong address. Dispatchers gave the address as the "1400" block of East Linwood - but the fire was actually in the 2000 block of Linwood.
There was about a 5-minute delay in units going to the right place.
When fire crews arrived- heavy smoke was reported on the upper floor of the multi-story building.
Fortunately- any occupant injuries have been very minor and the fire was mostly contained to the top floor with water & smoke damage elsewhere in the building.
No word yet on the number of any displaced residents.

Just before 3 am - five fire companies responded to a house fire in the 7300 block of Charlotte.
Three small streams were used on that fire with no reports of injuries.
Both fires are under investigation.
