At 3:06 p.m. Lee's Summit emergency services- police- fire and several EMS units were sent to the 900 block of Cedar Creek Lane in the west-northwest part of that southern Jackson county MO city.
There was the report of "a loaded (with students) school bus overturned" there.
Cedar Creek Lane is a narrow road into a small subdivision- and responding fire & EMS units reported the roads "very (icy)."
Upon arrival at 3:11 p.m.- the FD found the bus- containing "30 children and the driver- on it's side."
Initially- none of those kids were reported to be hurt.
But at 3:55 p.m.- one of those students was complaining of an unknown injury- was put "on a backboard-" and transported to "St. Luke's-East" hospital in Lee's Summit in not life-threatening condition.
Two smaller school busses were sent to deliver the remaining children to the Cedar Creek elementary school and/or waiting parents- who had come to the scene on Chipman at Cedar Creek Lane.
