At 0833 CDT- a Southwest Airlines jet- a 737-300 with 144 passengers and crew aboard- reports a fire in a rear engine and is making an emergency landing at K.C.I. (MCI) airport.
The airport Crash-Fire & Rescue reports there "could be a possible runway evacuation" of passengers from the aircraft when it lands.

UPDATE - 0843 CDT - The Southwest Airlines has landed safely- and a runway evacuation was not necessary. The aircraft is presently taxiing to a terminal gate.
