The National Weather Service (NWS) has Metro Kansas City in a "Winter Storm Warning" from noon today until 6 a.m. Thursday for a possible 5 to 8-inches of snow by this time tomorrrow morning.
The remainder of the MetroRegion- around Fort Scott KS and north around Maryville MO- 3 to 5-inches of snow are expected and both areas are under a NWS "Winter Weather Advisory" to cover that.
Air temperatures are in the mid to upper teens this morning and so far- no snow indicated on radar other than a few very light radar echoes in northern and central Kansas.
Conditions will increasingly worsen as the day goes on with snow beginning in the Metro around the noon hour and becoming fairly heavy with snowfall rates of around an inch an hour by 6 p.m..
Thursday morning drive-time looks rough and many area schools will probably see yet ANOTHER snow day.
I'll check in this afternoon with radar and area traffic camera views and a great day for ya!
