CSW WEATHER: NWS "Winter Storm Watch" Wednesday for Kansas City- Lawrence- Topeka- St. Joseph Areas

Just issued by the Kansas City (Pleasant Hill MO) and Topeka offices of the National Weather Service (NWS) is a "Winter Storm Watch" for those areas generally along and north of U.S. 56 Highway in Kansas- and U.S. 50 Highway in Missouri for Wednesday and Wednesday night.

The NWS (and I agree) expects from 4 to 7 inches of snow in the watch areas by Thursday morning- 2 to 5-inches elsewhere in the Kansas City MetroRegion.

In addition- north to northeast winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour will cause some blowing and drifting of snow- particularily on east-west roadways.

More below-average temperatures will come in behind the snowfall Thursday and Friday.

Keep tuned- I hope to be up early tomorrow with more info....
