A Child is Born - In a Cass County MO Convenience Store Restroom

Years from today- some child may ask their mother "Where was I born?"

The mother of the child born at 2:17 a.m. Sunday morning December 5, 2010 near Harrisonville MO may struggle a bit to word her answer to such a question.

At 2:16 a.m.- EMS personnel from the Central Cass County Fire Protection District responded to a call of "an active child birth in the bathroom" of a convenience store just west of the Missouri-7 junction with U.S. 71 highway- just south of Harrisonville.

Before the CCCFPD medics could get there- the infant had- at 2:18 a.m.- reportedly "been delivered" at the store.

Initially it was reported the unknown-gender-to-me newborn was "not breathing."

However medics quickly arrived and assisted the child to normal breathing and the mother and her infant were transported non-emergency to Research Medical Center.
