As bad as today's economy is in 'conquered' America- it's twice as bad or worse on America's Native American reservations

Alcohol and drug abuse have been an issue for years on South Dakota's reservations as generations of Human Beings have lost their tribal identities and abilities to support their families with few good job prospects in or near their homes.
This story in The LINCOLN (NE) JOURNAL STAR tells of those trying to find answers to the many problems found in those reservations created many years ago by seemingly indifferent white men.

Nobody is chained to the reservation. I grew up in western Nebraska where there were no jobs. I moved. Maybe instead of living in a vacant landscape (albeit a beautiful one) they do what I did, my parents did, my grandparents did and my great grandparents did when they left Europe at the turn of the century: MOVE.
