Arrest Made in Arson of Historic Raymore MO Church

R
eported FIRST in Kansas City here at CSW was the January 23 fire in a historic Raymore church that had been converted into a residence and was for rent.

It turns out an arsonist was responsible for the fire that virtually destroyed the building that was built in the late 1800's.

The CASS COUNTY (MO) DEMOCRAT-MISSOURIAN reports that Raymore police arrested a suspect- 17-year-old Joseph Kalinka and have charged him with torching the church.

I lived in this Church/House for three years. It was turned into a home in 1984 and owned by a man who currently lives in St. Louis. I best not give his name. It was truly magical on the inside. It still had the original light fixtures hanging from a high ceiling in the open family room area. The master suite upstairs made one feel like royalty. In all it had a formal living room huge family room with a two story firplace. It had a formal dining area, four bedrooms, and three bathrooms. Truly a very enjoyable place to live. I did cost a lot to heat and cool however. What a shame that the young man and probably others that were with him had such total disreguard for a piece of history and other peoples property.
