Virtually all of the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District is battling a fire in a business in eastern Blue Springs MO..
The alarm was sounded at 2:43 pm to "Double C Industries at 1400 Southeast U.S. 40 highway."
Police arrived minutes later and reported all persons had evacuated the building and smoke was showing.
Fire arrived moments later- confirming a working fire in the business.
At 2:57 pm- two more engine (pumper) companies were ordered to the scene- those are mutual-aid companies from Lee's Summit and Fort Osage fire departments.
No reports of any injuries yet.
UPDATE: The fire was declared under control at 3:06 pm- reportedly the seat of the fire "extinguished by the sprinkler system" in the building.
There were no reported injuries as of 3:45 pm- and the extent of damage to the business is yet unknown- but considerable smoke was noted.
