CSW WEATHER: Friday Snow Update 1

M
oderate to heavy snow continues in Metro Kansas City at this hour.

Around 2-3 inches has accumulated on grassy surfaces here in southeastern KC-MO- with up to another 2 inches likely before the snowfall ends by later this afternoon.

The air temperature here at CSW is 36 degrees.

Shown are some Overland Park traffic camera views- starting south on 151st Street west of U.S. 69- then north to Nall at 119th Street- then the last view at 75th Street and Metcalf.

Roadways are treated with salt- driving lanes mostly just wet with some slush.

The latest weather radar image shows the back edge of the snow working it's way from southwest of Johnson County KS- but a band of moderate to heavy snow continues over most of central Metro K.C..

This is a precursor of a more significant snowstorm possible beginning late Sunday and continuing into Monday.
