Slick-Road Crashes- Male with Multiple Stab Wounds in KC-KS and KC-MO Police Chase Leads Pre-Dawn Saturday Morning News

esides the 2-alarm apartment building fire reported here at CSW first in Kansas City- weather-slickened roads- a KC-KS teen stabbing victim- and a KC-MO Police chase of 3 possible armed street robbery suspects into KC-KS leads the overnight news...



The inch or less of snow that fell in upper-teen temperatures Friday led to many vehicle crashes on area roads late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

No fatalities reported- but multiple-vehicle crashes closed parts of some Metro freeways.


Multiple vehicle wrecks slowed or stopped I-35 near College Boulevard in Lenexa-Olathe KS- I-70 at I-635 in KC-KS- I-35 northbound near Southwest Trafficway- I-70 near 18th Street and I-435 near Front Street in KC-MO..

No serious injuries were reported in any of those incidents.

Other wrecks occurred along I-70 from I-435 eastward into Lafayette County at various times as well as I-470 in Lee's Summit MO from Friday night into Saturday morning.

A "40-year-old" woman was seriously injured when her car went off eastbound I-70 near Oak Grove and overturned around 1:10 am..

The snow had exited all of Metro Kansas City by 5 am but some patchy ice remained on arear roadways and freeways.

At 2:20 am- KC-KS Fire and EMS with police went to the 2900 block of South 51st Street where a resident had reported "a black male" was "bleeding- appears to have been stabbed."


That male- reported by a KC-KS paramedic as "18-years-old"- indeed was stabbed - "eight (8) times."

The victim was rushed to a hospital in serious to critical condition.

KC-KS Police report having "little to go on" in regard to any suspect(s) and were investigating.

Kansas City MO Center Zone police officers conducted a 2: city-county-state pursuit of 3 possible armed robbery suspects from Downtown and the River Market areas of KC-MO into east-central KS-KS just after 3 am.



No one was hurt either as a result of the robbery or chase- but police reported the suspect vehicle crashed into either objects or other parked vehicles at least four times during the chase.

The chase terminated around 3:20 am at 18th Street and Hiawatha and after a short foot chase- at least one of the suspects was apprehended.

That one suspect reportedly suffered an ankle injury during the footchase and was taken in custody to a local medical center..
