If you answered the Plaza's Palace Theater you win the STAR's coverage of this more-or-less non-story that we had but didn't feel it important enough to post.
Oh- I HAD the story AND the graphic ready if the call amounted to anything- which it did not- but here goes anyway:
At exactly 1:11 pm Sunday afternoon- a "1st-Alarm" of seven KC-MO Fire companies reponded to the Palace theater in the 500 block of (West) Nichols Road on the report of "smoke in the theater."
At 1:15 pm after Pumper 32 had arrived- they report "a furnace problem"- specifically- a "malfunctioning furnace motor"- but no fire.
The theaters were evacuated for about 15 minutes as a precaution- firefighters removed the smoke and the patrons returned.
No one was hurt and the incident was very minor.
VERY minor.

And unworthy of a blog entry, I'd say. Are you actually in television news where all things on the police scanner are newsworthy?
Wow.
So AM radioman you post a comment bitching that a minor event is too minor to make a blog post about. So that makes your comment what? More insignificant than a mouse fart?
I was of the opinion that ANY post is worthy of a "blog."
I'm sure worse drivel than that is posted many times daily across the blogosphere.
News Quiz: How does a major breaking news story often begin?

Come on Radioman- how ELSE does the news media get breaking news?
