Five companies of the KC-MO Fire department responded to a reported building fire at 9th Street and Prospect at 6:54 pm Wednesday night.
Heavy smoke with fire showing was reported when the first companies pulled up several minutes later and an additional ladder company was sent on the "working fire" response.
A 2nd-alarm was sounded at 6:59 pm with two additional pumpers- a rescue squad and aerial were dispatched.
The fire is in a building containing an automotive repair facilty and other businesses.
The fire is reported "under control" at 7:06 pm with no reports of injuries yet.
