Motorists driving like Europeans- according to the accompanying image- would be the norm when the new I-70-Woods Chapel Road interchange is completed in 2013.
Northbounders on Wood Chapel would drive on the LEFT side of the I-70 overpass directly onto the westbound I-70 ramp. Southbounders the opposite: driving on the other side of the bridge.
This "diverging diamond interchange" as it's called by traffic engineers would begin construction in 2011 if approved by the Blue Springs MO City council- according to The Independence-Blue Springs-Grain Valley EXAMINER.
The only other interchange built like this in all of America is in Springfield-MO..
I'd love to be a traffic camera (and a tow truck driver) at this interchange the first few weeks it's in operation....

It's not Europeans. It's the British. The rest of Europe can figure out which side of the road to drive on.
There is one of these planned for the intersection of Front street at 435. It is planned to begin after the new Missouri river bridge is finished on 35.
