KANSAS CITY'S WEATHER: Frontal Thunderstorms Expected- Flash-Flood Threat Small

A cold front is racing southeastward toward the KC MetroRegion- and will likely pass through the city sometime later this afternoon- between 3-6 pm.

Thunderstorms should rapidly develop along this front over then next 2-3 hours- a few storms have already developed near Cameron-MO. Storms should move from the northwest to the southeast- generally.

While we could get some strong storms with gusty winds- small hail and torrential rains- the storms will be moving today- so the threat of anything more than localized brief high waters or ponding will be small.
