CSW WEATHER: Severe Storm Watch Cancelled for Metro K.C.- But Storms Develop

The weather radar has certainly lit up the past hour.

Showers and thunderstorms- the latter with locally very heavy rain- have developed from east of Emporia into the Metro Kansas City area.

Some of these storms in the Metro could produce small hail- as storm tops are in the 35000 to 45000 foot range.

Thunderstorms are likely at least for the next hour or two according to radar trends- and this area SHOULD shift east and south over time.

At any rate- I'll be here until 7 a.m. to monitor them....
