Two-Alarm Fire in Southern Kansas City KS Apartment Complex

The fire is in a building at the apartment complex at 1000 West County Line Road in extreme south KC-KS..

The first alarm was sounded around 2:13 p.m.- and a working fire was reported when the first-in companies arrived.

At 2:18 p.m.- a chief on the scene reported "freon and propane tanks in the basement" of the "3-story" structure which houses the complex's maintenance department.

A 2nd-alarm was sounded at that time.

The firefight moved from inside to the outside of the building when there were collapses of the building's roof at 2:35 p.m..

A chief also reports that this fire "appears to be intentionally set."

Over the past 2 weeks- CSW has heard several "false alarm" fire department calls to this complex- and to this building.

No injuries have been reported as of this report with the fire reported "under control" at 3 p.m...

Other KC-KS fire crews were called at 2:52 p.m. to the 300 block of South Boeke- where there's a "fully-involved" shed fire.

Fire coverage in southern and eastern KC-KS is very low at this report.
