Serious to Critical Injuries In 2 Johnson County-KS Crashes

ale drivers of a vehicle and a motorcycle suffered serious to critical injuries in 2 separate crashes Sunday morning.




The first wreck was around 1:30 am at 167th Street and Switzer in southern Overland Park.


A male driver around 38-year-old lost control of his vehicle and rolled over- breaking a power pole in the process.


The man was trapped in his vehicle- and he became inpaled on a pole.

The man was freed from the wreckage just before 2 am- and was transported to a Metro medical trauma center- pole still "impaled into his armpit- exiting the back" and in critical condition.

Just before 2 am- a male riding his motorcycle in the 12000 block of West 57th Street lost control- struck a sign- and was thrown into a ditch.

Police found the man unconscious- and he was transported by MEDACT-EMS in critical condition to a Johnson County medical trauma center. Intoxication may have been a factor police said.
