Grandview Building Collapse UPDATE 1

A
t 10:03 am- GRANDVIEW Fire reports "all people are out" of the collapse at Kenny's Tile Company at 3303 Main.

This story was first reported here at CSW.

There was a "major floor collapse" there around 9:45 am. Originally- the collapse was thought to be at an address in KC-MO..

At least "2" people pulled from the collapse are being taken to a south KC-MO trauma hospital.

Two of the injured are males- one is "29-years-old with a severe head laceration" and other possible life-threatening injuries.

The 2nd victim is a "32-year-old Hispanic male" and his injuries are not life-threatening.

No immediate word on any other injured- but all victims have reportedly been pulled from the collapse debris.

KC-MO Fire and MAST-EMS units are also assisting.

Grandview Fire officials worry about further collapses in the affected building and are keeping everyone out and away from the structure.

My husband worked there for years and we always worried about the ceiling, chunks would fall down on the guys below regularly. This is a tragedy that could have been avoided. The owners of the compnay were well aware of the instability of the floor, they even had a guy put a piece of metal on the ceiling to keep the floor above from collapsing. I'm beyond angry because this was caused by greed. It'd cost too much to fix, well now it's gonna cost them A LOT more. This is ridiculous. I never thought I'd be thankful my husband got laid off. My heart goes out to all those guys, and I hope the owners feel like the rotten pigs they are.

Wow- would you be willing to be interviewed about this?

If so PLEASE email me privately at doctor_mulcahy@yahoo.com with Grandview Collapse in the subject header.

I knew a lady named "Sherry" that worked at the store location nearer to US 71- but that was like 30-something years ago.

Hope she wasn't there!

Thanks for your comment!
