MetroRegion Kansas City WEATHER: SPC Says Local Severe Risk Rescinded

I
f you refer to the Storm Prediction Center's (NWS-SPC) graphic- you'll see that today's forecast area for possible severe thunderstorms has shifted well south and southwest of the Metro and MetroRegion.

This does not mean we won't have thunderstorms around- since the storms are already entering the Metro from the southwest in Johnson County-KS- but the likelyhood of any severe storms is very small at this time.

There is a severe thunderstorm around the Fort Scott-KS and Nevada-MO areas at this time- along with a flash flood warning.

What we WILL get are periods of heavy rains through early Tuesday which could produce local areas of flash flooding.

We'll be watching all the weather throughout the day here at CSW so you won't have to.....
