Snowfalls Past and Future

After shooting a little video of this morning's snowfall- Ms. Rittenhouse reminded me of some things about the snow- childhood.

She so wanted to leave her south Kansas City office and go outside and make snow angels.

I reminded her of those cherished snow days off from school- when we'd bundle ourselves up far beyond protection from the freezing temperatures and go outside to play in the stuff.

After a few hours of sledding- snowman-making- snow-fort making and of course the obligatory snowball fight- we'd waddle into the house and the caked-on snow and ice would begin melting on the floor.

You'd fight to get off the frozen & soggy clothes layers then maybe a cup of hot cocoa. The memory is as rich as that long-ago taste of chocolate.

I also reminded my dear lady that's the glory of getting old too.

One day- you can act like a kid again.
