Metro K.C. Snowfall Ending By Noon

If you'll refer to the weather radar image- you see that the band of snow- lifting north & northeast- has already cleared southwestern through southern MetroRegion counties.

This snow band will clear the Metro by noon- leaving us with about 3-4 inches of fresh snow accumulation.

Most roadways are snow-covered- with a thin layer of ice beneath- as you can see on the screen-capture image of this Overland Park traffic camera on top of the Sheraton hotel near I-435 & Nall. Traffic speeds are moving about 10-30 MPH below posted limits. There have been and continues to be many mostly-minor wrecks on Metro roadways.

Most area school districts have cancelled classes today as well.

It'll be about a day and a half break before the next winter weather system strikes the MetroRegion on Thursday.
