K.C. Should Miss A Major Ice Storm

It's going to be close folks- but the current models indicate that the worst of this episode should miss us to the north through northeast.

There could be some icing in the Metro when precipitation begins Thursday morning- but temperatures should rise throughout the day and any freeezing or frozen precip should turn to rain.

Refering to the graphic- a major ice storm is likely in parts of the Central States from northern Missouri and southern Iowa- eastward through northern Illinois into the Chicagoland.
If you live in any of these areas- prepare NOW for major icing and utility disruption.

The MetroRegion will also deal with a lesser-intensity storm on Saturday- snow's expected with that system.
