** Shots Fired During KC-MO Police Burglary Call **
... This was in the 4100 block of Genesee and police didn't fire the shots nor did the reported at least 2 unknown suspects.
Police had already arrived at the address and had detected the suspects who began to flee when- at virtually the same moment- shots were fired.
The officers didn't immediately chase the fleeing suspects until they indentified the shooter- who turned out to be a neighbor who had also seen the burglars- but not the police- according to reports.
A manhunt for the unknowns went on in the area for about an hour with no results at least 45 minutes in- and no word yet if police will charge the gun-firing neighbor with doing so (and scarring the hell out of at least 2 Center Zone patrol cops).

<><><> OVERNIGHT WEATHER <><><>
Temperatures more like late May greeted early Sunday morning risers in Metro Kansas City- and over much of the southern half of the MetroRegion. Winds blew more like March...
Southerly winds gusting to around 50 MPH raked the Metro and MetroRegion overnight.
In KC-MO- police had to close 2 well-travelled streets- 31st Street west of Van Brunt and Grandview Road south of Longview for a time early Sunday morning because of blown-down power poles or lines.
No word on the number of people affected by overnight power outages.
It's been 60-degrees or warmer in Metro KC-MO since around 6am Sunday morning- 62 at 10am now in S.E. KC-MO and at the Downtown airport.
Yet- 12 miles northwest of Downtown airport at K.C. International airport- it was 45-degrees with Northwest winds gusting to 32 MPH.
A strong Arctic cold front is sweeping in- it's 12-degrees in Omaha already- and this cold air mass will stay for at least the next 7 days And end this brief bout of spring-like weather.
With the cold comes precipitation- later this Sunday afternoon and evening we can expect possible sleet changing to snow with a quick 1-2-inches before the storm systems wraps in the cold- dryer air by early Monday morning.
Could be some slick roadways in the Metro for the Monday morning commute..
But we'll miss the forecasted possibilily of a quarter inch of ice in southeastern MO and northeastern AR..
The next frozen-precip chance is Tuesday- that may be at least a couple of inches of snow- maybe more here in the Metro or elsewhere in the MetroRegion.
Models show another chance for wintry-type precip Thursday- and there's signs that could include that dreaded freezing rain somewhere in the K.C. Metroregion.
This cold is going to hang on through at least next Saturday- when there's yet another chance for wintery slickness
Stay tuned this coming week before Christmas for updates.
