With temperatures hovering around 60 degrees- a man at a Blue Springs motel thought he'd take a plunge in the motel's swimming pool around 3:15 a.m. Sunday morning.
A Central Jackson County Fire Protection District fire and EMS unit responded to the scene at "1110 Northwest Missouri (M-) 7 Highway" at the "America's Best Great Value Inn" motel.
EMS reports finding a "33-34-year-old male" who "dived off the board into 3 feet of water head-first."
Although showing no skull injury- the man reportedly had no feeling below his waist.
EMS also described the patient as "showing EtOH" or signs of alcohol intoxication as the EMS crew rushed the man to a Kansas City MO medical trauma center.
