CSW BREAKING: Heavy Smoke in a South KC-MO Elderly Care Facility

A 1st-alarm equivalent response consisting of seven companies of the KC-MO Fire department has been sent to the Villa Ventura elderly care facility at 12100 Wornall at 6:56 a.m..

"Heavy smoke in a hallway" has been reported by the first-arriving fire company- and there is reported "the smell of something burning."

As of 7:15 a.m.- the source of the possible fire has not yet been located- but a crew on-scene believes it's "in the walls" result of a room's "heating and cooling unit."

Apparently- the fire was small- as of 7:45 a.m. some of the companies at the scene were returned to service- and by 8:15 a.m.- the situation was under control.

No word if there were any evacuations of the residents of the facility- but there were no injuries reported.
