Severe Storms Possible Over The Kansas City MetroRegion Today

A
large area of the American Central States from the Texas Gulf coast to Minnesota and Wisconsin is outlooked for a "slight risk" of severe thunderstorms with all modes of severe weather- including a few tornadoes- later this Saturday afternoon and evening- according to the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center.

Locally- the entire Kansas City MetroRegion is included in this severe storm risk area.

Storm development/severity will be dependent on daytime heating- so if your area gets quite a bit of sun today- watch for building cumulus clouds becoming cumulonimbus towers later on.
