Deadly Sunday Morning for Motorcyclists in the Kansas City MetroRegion

Two motorcyclists have died in crashes this Sunday morning.


The first crash was reported east of Baldwin City KS on U.S. 56 in rural Douglas County at 12:20 a.m..

This was reported as a cyclist striking a deer between 1900 and 2000 roads and when a law officer arrived at 12:27 a.m.- he reported the cyclist  had a critical head injury.

The cyclist died on the scene of the crash.


At 2:46 a.m.- Overland Park KS agencies were called to the southbound U.S. 69 ramp from 151st Street where it was reported a motorcyclist crashed.

A police officer arriving at 2:50 a.m. reported the male cyclist "unconscious and not breathing."

That cyclist was declared dead-on-the-scene by MEDACT-EMS paramedic at 2:58 a.m..

The cause of this crash was being investigated.
