Two separate incidents along the Missouri River in Lafayette County early Sunday morning may have been related- resulting in 3 people suffering from cold water exposure.
At 12:54 am- Waverly Fire and EMS were sent to "meet the Missouri Water Patrol with a hypothermia (cold exposure) victim at the Waverly boat ramp" to the Muddy MO..
Then at 1:10 am- another MO Water Patrol officer needed Wellington-Napoleon Fire and EMS for "a male hypothermia victim on the steps of the Corps of Engineers station" on the river in Napoleon- about 15 miles upriver from the Waverly call.
Shortly- a 2nd patient "a female"- was mentioned- she too had apparently been rescued as well.
The latter 2 people were taken to an eastern Metro Kansas City medical facility in good condition.
No word on the status of the Waverly victim or any confirmation on what exactly happened yet.
