A 2nd-alarm has just been sounded on an apartment building fire in the 8600 block of Holmes in South KC-MO..
The first alarm went out at 6:40 pm to a reported "fire on a balcony- possible a BBQ grill."
When first-in Pumper 36 arrived at 6:44 pm- they observed "heavy smoke and fire showing from a 2-story apartment building" with flames shooting "above the roof" of the fire building.
A 2nd alarm was requested by the battalion chief who was still rsponding and it was dispatched at 6:46 pm.
At least 11 KC-MO fire companies are on-scene or enroute with no reports of anyone trapped or injuries yet.
