A woman was found dead after a fire in a first-floor apartment of a 2-story building in Midtown around 5:30am.. Police are investigating this as a possible homicide.
Channels 5 and 9 had no mention of this fire on their local segments at 7- 7:30 and 8am. KMBC-9 did cover this story on their evening newscast- I don't know about KCTV-5.
Although the station I work for- KSHB NBC41- has no weekend morning newscast- you will find major overnight news- including this fatal fire- posted on this site- often before the 7am weekend newscasts begin. There was a NBC41 cameraman on the scene shortly after the body was found too.
