Worker Injured By Chemical at KC-MO Bayer Plant

W
hen the call came in to MAST-EMS and fire dispatchers at 8:51 a.m.- they said they "didn't know what we have" at the Bayer plant in the 8400 block of East Hawthorne Road in KC-MO's East Bottoms industrial area.

MAST sent one ambulance- but the Fire department sent a pumper- aerial truck- a battalion chief and "Haz-Mat 71" to the call.

What they had was "a 48-year-old male" worker "on the (packaging) line" who had been exposed to "an insecticide solvent" and had been treated and "de-contaminated" by plant workers before emergency crews arrived- said Pumper 47's captain at 8:59 a.m...

The exposed worker was transported to a Northland medical trauma center in not-immediately life-threatening condition while Bayer- and no doubt OSHA- investigates the incident.

Former Head of Oklahoma Charity Asks For An Overseer

F
eed The Children- a charity based in Oklahoma City- needs a temporary receiver to take over it's operations says it's former president Larry Jones.

Mr. Jones was fired from the charity by it's board- and Jones accuses the charity of "failing to pay taxes on purchases, lying to get contributions, mismanaging the charity’s saving accounts and firing whistleblowers"- according to the story in The TULSA (OK) WORLD.

Sounds similar to shenanigans of a local charity that got Ms. Rittenhouse fired several years ago- but that didn't make the "mainstream" press and they cruise on.

What Happened to The Kansas City Post and Mark Forsythe?

F
ellow bloggers knew Mark Fosythe's THE KANSAS CITY POST as a morph of Mark's webpage from his failed run for KC-MO city councilman.

The guy was a good read- seemed to love this city- and had some good ideas.

Now- not only is Mark's TKCP webpage gone- but so it seems Mark is too.

I tried to call a phone number listed on Whitepages- but it's no longer in service.

Mark- if you're out there- or if ANYONE knows what happened to this man- please let your Captain know: doctor_mulcahy@yahoo.com .

We miss you Chief!
