The University of Kansas basketball Jayhawks could have taken a boat down the Kansas and Missouri rivers to the Mississippi to reach St. Louis.
After today- the Jayhawks can continue south on the Mississip via that imaginary boat all the way to New Orleans.
I don't do that much sports here on CSW- but as some of you know- I'm a "born Jayhawk" circa 1952.
Congrats to Coach Bill Self and those great and plucky Jayhawks for their win over former coach Roy William's team North Carolina to reach the Final Four of the 2011-12 NCAA men's basketball tournament in the Queen City next weekend.
This year's 'Self centered' team reminds me a lot of the 1985 World Champion Kansas City Royals...
That year- I sat in Royals Stadium or at home in front of the TV watching that team- that didn't have the winning record of some past teams- only win EVERY game they had to in order to grab the World Series title.
