CSW Weather: "Slight" Risk of Severe Weather as Thunderstorms Build West of Metro Kansas City

The Storm Prediction Center arm of the National Weather Service has Metro Kansas City and large parts of our surrounding MetroRegion in a "slight risk" forecast area for severe thunderstorms.

This risk is later this afternoon and evening- and again Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

As shown here from the NWS Topeka Doppler radar- thunderstorms have slowly been increasing in number and intensity from north and west of Lawrence westward to the Topeka area.

These storms are showing to be moving slowly east-northeast- and storms are quite possible in Metro Kansas City (especially northwest and north areas) in the next few hours.

As usual- CSW will be keeping our 'weather-eye' out!
