CSW BREAKING: Police Chase From Grandview MO to Kansas City Results in Wreck of Suspect Vehicle

A Grandview police "shots fired" call Monday morning turned into an about six-mile chase of a possible suspect-shooter's car by a Jackson County Sheriff's deputy and Grandview Police (GPD).

GPD reported speeds "in excess of 100 m.p.h." during the pursuit.

The action began at 2:49 a.m. at the East Frontage road of U.S. 71 highway and Blue Ridge Boulevard and ended at 2:53 a.m when the pursued "red Ford Taurus" crashed at the bottom of the northbound I-435 ramp to Gregory Boulevard.

The  Taurus's seriously-injured "black male driver" was trapped in the wreckage- and had to be later extricated by fire department and EMS crews.

At 2:56 a.m.- Kansas City Police issued an "assist the officer" call bringing law from everywhere- but the assist was cancelled minutes later as the pursued wasn't going anywhere.

No lawmen/persons report being injured as a result of the shots fired- chase or crash.

A GPD officer found shell casings but no victims at the Blue Ridge and the northbound U.S. 71 ramp starting point- and the Jackson County deputy and GPD recovered a gun from the wrecked red Ford.
