Driver Killed After Striking Several Vehicles Near Downtown Kansas City MO

It was- to say the least- an unusual chain of events that led to a fatality crash south of the Downtown KC-MO Loop just before midnight late Saturday night.

Reportedly the male driver of a vehicle going northbound on Grand struck an off-duty police officer's car at 19th Street.

That male driver took off from that crash scene- only to become involved in another crash a block north at 18th Street and Grand.

There he struck a car broadside- hit a tow truck- then came to rest against a building- where he was found dead inside his car.

Two males in the car that was broadsided that included the "28-year-old male driver"  had serious to critical injuries- -" and they were transported by KCFD-EMS to separate hospitals.

The off-duty cop was not hurt.

Police were investigating the series of crashes- and no doubt toxicology will be performed on the male driver that caused it all to see if he had any drugs or alcohol in his system.
