Since it's only 10 days until the start of 'meteorological' spring- Mother Nature is getting us ready for the season...
A low pressure and frontal system is entering the Central States this Monday morning- and the system will produce strong gusty winds and a chance for thunderstorms.
Some of those thunderstorms could become rather strong to borderline severe this afternoon as they form along a cold front that will be sweeping through Metro Kansas City this evening.
The main hazards with the storms will be hail- at or below the 1-inch-size severe category- along with wind gusts at or below that severe category of 58-mph.
High temperatures today will range from the low-50's to near 60-degrees- but it won't feel that warm with the south to southwest winds that will gust to the 40 mph range.
There's no real cold air behind tonight's cold front- and high temperatures are likely to range from the middle-50's to the middle 60's by Wednesday.
