Forty-six year-old Trooper Fred Guthrie Jr. and his 5-year-old K-9 Reed went missing shortly after 1 p.m. Monday near Big Lake northwest of St. Joseph- and searches by ground and air didn't locate the two- according to the ST. JOSEPH (MO) NEWS-PRESS and staff reporter Kim Norvell.
